Landscape sheathed in bleakness
stranded, cabin a speck amongst the fury
Droves of powder slam and strike, still standing
Frost creates foggy predictions upon the pane
Detailing my untimely demise
The window is no longer my ally against this madness
Surrounding world, drowning in white
Falling flakes appear delicate, airy, soft sprinkles of crystals
Heavier than they appear, my heart is much heavier
Pure as a virgin, so beautiful, so deadly
pummeled to death from the inside
No end - must make my own
Clouds spread, beckoning calm
Door opens, blurry, hazed figures materialize, dissipate
Too late - have gone to the blizzard in my mind

Still Alive....
Hate, anger, frustration,
How does one survive?
Confusion, distraught, depression.
Why even be alive?
Screaming, running, sobbing,
Everyone is swarming.
Yelling, crying, dying.
Does someone really care?
I sit alone now, all by
Myself with no one else.
They've all left again for good,
And I am once again alone.
I only have friends when
They need a place to hide.
Does that make them love me?
"My basement's always open. . ."
I sit alone again and cry,
For the friends I wish I had,
But will never see.
All I get are words, in threes.
They speak to me softly,
Worry in their faces.
Do they care? Or is
Their worry worthless?
It hurts at the end,
As we all know, but
After that we don't
Know how to go.
Dante once said that sinners go
Where it is dark and dank,
And in the hot below,
Down where Hades rules.
But do we know
Where people go
After their loneliness
Has got to them.
Why stay here where it's sad,
When you can live happy,
No longer alone,
No longer afraid.
How does one survive?
Confusion, distraught, depression.
Why even be alive?
Screaming, running, sobbing,
Everyone is swarming.
Yelling, crying, dying.
Does someone really care?

Silent Pain
You looked into my eyes,
And I saw the pain and suffering,
The stifled love you could not tell me of.
For your pride was also strong.
But, could I blame you?
You must have thought
That I would laugh and call you foolish
As I had done before.
And your proud heart, full of pain,
Could take no more.
So, you said nothing.
For, how could you have known
That at that moment
I loved you, too.
I longed to touch and take your hand,
To kiss away your sorrow.
But, I gazed into your sad, sweet eyes
And never said a word.
Then, you turned and walked away,
And I was left alone
Watching after your proud, slow stride.
I might have made light the load of your heavy heart
Had I only said, "I love you."
And I saw the pain and suffering,
The stifled love you could not tell me of.
For your pride was also strong.
But, could I blame you?
You must have thought
That I would laugh and call you foolish
As I had done before.
And your proud heart, full of pain,
Could take no more.
So, you said nothing.
For, how could you have known

I longed to touch and take your hand,
To kiss away your sorrow.
But, I gazed into your sad, sweet eyes
And never said a word.
Then, you turned and walked away,
And I was left alone
Watching after your proud, slow stride.
I might have made light the load of your heavy heart
Had I only said, "I love you."
